A Manhattan-based admissions advisory guiding families from kindergarten through college, and into their first careers, since 2015.

We identify what makes a student distinctive, then build the application, and the four-year plan behind it, around exactly that.
Maccabee Coaching did not begin as a business. It began with a mother’s confusion, navigating the Manhattan nursery school admissions process. It was far more complicated, and more competitive, than I had imagined: for a child who was not yet three, the parents write the application essays and sit for the interviews. How do schools evaluate a child who is two years and eight months old? What do they want to know about our family? Are we rich enough, connected enough, educated enough? No one could tell me. What parents had instead came in fragments: rankings, forum threads, what a neighbor heard from another neighbor. None of it answered what I actually needed to know: which school is right for my child, and how do we build the foundation so they thrive there, not merely get in.
I had spent my career in Wall Street equity research, where the standard is rigorous analysis and the due diligence is deep and comprehensive. School, to me, is a starting point, not the finish line, and it deserves that level of diligence. I brought that standard to my own family’s decisions, and then to the families who began asking for help.
Today more than 500 families have entrusted us with that same question. As my own children and our earliest students have grown, we have had the privilege of walking with many of them from kindergarten through college and into their first careers. This is not a business to us. It is family, and we treat it that way.

Every consultant on our team is a parent who has raised children through the American school system, and every one holds a graduate degree. We believe you cannot fully understand what a family is going through until you have sat on the parent’s side of the table yourself. That is why our work does not stop at the acceptance letter. We care whether a child arrives at school confident, self-driven and emotionally well, with the inner resources to make the most of the opportunity. That kind of care comes from a parent’s heart, and it is what sets our consultants apart.
